If your passport has been lost or damaged in a natural disaster, you may be eligible for a free replacement.
The expiry date of your new passport will generally be the same as for the passport that was lost or damaged.
The process is simple. You don’t need an application form, just some basic information to confirm your identity and that you were in an affected area.
If you’re in Australia, phone our central call centre on 131 232. The nearest passport office will then contact you and guide you through the process to get a new passport.
If you’re overseas, contact your nearest Australian diplomatic or consular mission.
